Hotel Near 17-Mile Drive and Pebble Beach
17-Mile Drive is the famous private road through Pebble Beach, winding between Pacific Grove and Carmel past rocky coves, cypress forest, and some of the most celebrated golf courses in the world. From Stargazer Hotel on Munras Avenue, Highway 1 takes you to the Highway 1 gate in minutes.
The drive is dotted with numbered pullouts, including Bird Rock, Fanshell Overlook, and the Lone Cypress, one of the most photographed trees in California. Pebble Beach charges a per-vehicle entrance fee at the gates, and you receive a map of the stops.
Tips
- Allow two to three hours if you want to stop at the overlooks and walk a little.
- Late afternoon light on the coves is beautiful. Finish in Carmel-by-the-Sea for dinner.
- Check the official Pebble Beach site for current gate hours and fees before you go.
