Summer Jazz Faculty Concert Featuring Janice Perl

Janice Perl, the youngest daughter of renowned Monterey musician and community leader Mike Marotta Sr., credits her father’s mentorship and musical guidance for inspiring her successful career in music.

She has served as Vocal Director for Pacific Repertory Theatre, Forest Theatre Guild, Compass Church, Trinity High School, and the Monterey Jazz Regional All-Star Vocal Ensemble. In addition to teaching private voice lessons through the Dennis Murphy School of Music, Janice is an accomplished jazz vocalist who regularly performs with many of the region’s premier musicians.

Janice is also the founder of Live Jazz at MidiCi, a popular series featuring live jazz performances every Thursday and Sunday evening. She recently completed recording her upcoming album, produced by Bill Spencer and featuring an outstanding lineup of musicians, including Gary Meek, Dave Marotta, Michael Lent, John Nava, John Ferraro, Skylar Campbell, and Paul Contos.
